Wpei sent a successful contingent to the 2017 Quebec Open.  5 athletes put in impressive performances.

Vanessa Keefe and Karlyn Shea won gold.  Due to lack of opponents in 70kg Vanessa moved up a weight division.  Vanessa went 2-0 to win the Bantam/Cadet 80kg class.  Karlyn Shea was 1-0 in the Juvenile/Junior combined 65/69kg class.

Nolan O’Rourke took home Silver in the Bantam/Cadet 63kg class with a 3-1 record.  Nolan lost a very entertaining gold medal match to Stone Lewis, silver medalist at the 2017 Canada Games.

David Good finished with a 1-3 record.  David had several very good fights and performed very well after taking several months off to play football.

Brooke Dunn, competing in her first ever off island tournament, was 0-2 but competed hard.  It was a good learning experience for Brooke.
