Vanessa Keefe capped off her great year by winning the U17 73kg National Title on the weekend.

On Saturday Vanessa went 3-0 and didn’t allow a point to be scored against her on her way to the title. Vanessa also was voted the women’s U17 Most Outstanding wrestler by the coaches.

Then on Sunday Vanessa competed in the U18 Cadet World team trials and again came away with the top spot in the 73kg division. Vanessa went 2-0 and defeated the 2018 U17 gold medalist Kaylee Welsh, from Calgary, in the final by a score of 12-2.

This victory qualifies Vanessa for the 2019 Cadet Pan Ams and World Championships.

Vanessa’s next tournament will be the Beat the Streets Gotham City Girls Open in NY City April 19-20.
